So I figured if the GS/3 owners have a thread...Let the crazy coffeegeeks that own a Linea in the home or garage or where ever the Linea beast is fitted...haha to have a thread :-)
Any Linea owners out there?
My rebuilt Linea - keeps me fueled and buzzed day and night...

Your out of your mind!.......................But in a good way. I guess your wife doesn't buy your story about going into the garage to do some chores. I have a question though. How do you like your Mahlkoenig? I can't afford it , but , for some reason I really want one. The fact that their distributer is ten miles from me makes it harder to resist. Please tell me you don't like it and wish you had not purchased it.

Well, I own one, but it looks like a Linea on the outside only.
Here's my specs:
5l steam boiler, 3l brew boiler Heat exchanger in the steam boiler, feeding brew and hot water mix PID controls on the brew boiler Hybrid stainless steel saturated brew group Stainless steel dispersion screen assembly Optimized for 110V, 12amp service (max 15amp draw) Custom low power consumption fluidatec rotary external pump Runs on 110v Steam boiler optimized for 1.8bar service, though I run it at 1.5bar
The thing steams way too fast at 1.8bar, so I dialed it down. The steam boiler was supposed to be PID'ed, but keeping it to 12amp was a consideration. This machine is pretty much a one of a kind. I constantly count my blessings and thank LM for custom building this for me.
That said, if the Kees Van der Westen Speedster 2008 model comes in 110V, I may jump ship.

Indeed I am out of my mind :-) No wife yet so I do not have to worry about the nagging. ha. My Linea is nestled nicely in my city apartment...with a little twisting, drilling, cutting and ikea anything can fit. The Mahlkoenig Guatemala is awesome. I got it from the ebay....it was practically brand new. i cleaned it up and set it on the 5 dial and it's ready to grind some press. If your able to get a Mahlkoenig...i say get one :-)

Hey Mark. I've always thought your Linea was kickass. I knew It would be impossible for me to get a 110v Linea so with lots of searching and patience I got a great deal on the 2 group and did an overhaul. I thought about adding a PID but not sure if it is really worth it....the Linea temp is always spot on.
That Kees Van de Vesten is one sexy looking machine. Awesome. If you do get the Speedster does that mean your Linea will be for sale? :-)

I hope to join you're ranks one of these days...... My 1 group Linea is about half done. We moved and I had to put the project on hold. Hopefully soon I will be able to pick it back up again. The good news about my new house is that the kitchen countertops have 19" height. Enough for the Linea to fit. The bad news, wifey will not let me drill a hole in our brand new Corian for the drain/water/electric lines.
