Hi! This is my first post, and I've learned a lot from reading the forums! I have been using a Capresso Ultima for the past few years. It makes good cappuccinos, and it has performed well, but it is time to move on. After studying the subject forever it seemed, I decided on the semi-auto Capresso because it wasn't expensive and I was able to get a good used unit for around $75. The semi-auto feature was also appealing as a new comer to the home espresso/capp scene because there was less involved. The downside, I found, was there is no control over the finished product.
I have the opportunity to buy a used Estro Vapore or a used Barista, both for very little $$. Consumer reviews on CG and elsewhere essentially rate them the same. They look pretty much the same and are both built by Saeco. However, is there any real difference in performance? Will they both produce a reasonably good shot of espresso? I have read about the pressurized PF issue and I'm not sure if these units both have the PPFs.
Any thoughts you can provide would be appreciated! I expect to use one of these for a couple of years, if it works okay, and then move up a notch or 2.
