Would someone kindly walk me through the advantages & disadvantages of each design. I am looking at machines in the low and high $2K and this is the primary difference. The boiler is a single boiler machine fyi.

That being said though,Im thinking that in on your budjet Id go with a good HX and a mazzer or Macap grinder .If you can spend $2500.00 its prety easy to get a great espresso set up. What ever you do ,dont call frcn in the mourning.

Good advice... $2500 will get you a VBM DS ($1700) and a Mazzer SJ or thereabouts, and that is a great combination that can service a home user for a decade or two with little difficulty.
..And an early-morning E-Mail is not a problem.. or even mourning... ;-P
