Subject: A Daltio Luna is on a truck somewhere, and im not sure what to expect.

I have spent the past year working at a coffee shop and making use of its commercial Brasilia machine for many free shots of espresso a day. Now that am moving i am forced to give up this very comfortable situation for a dorm appropriate machine attainable on a student budget. After doing a lot of research into machines in the $200-$300 range, i could not find one that suited my needs (acceptable build quality. acceptable shot quality) so i looked on ebay. I purchased a new Daltio Luna for $160 because it seemed like an excellent deal and a good machine from what little information i could gather from scattered italian websites and this site.

Immediately after i finished the transaction pangs of fear about my purchase began to surface. I am foremost concerned that the machine (which inexplicably ships with 150 free "italian espresso pods" that i will hopefully never have to touch) will not work with ground coffee. secondarily, i am concerned by the fact that i could not find any useful information or reviews on the internet regarding its quality other than a nod to the machine on another post on this site.

The quality concern was mostly addressed in the aforementioned post, however if the machine is flummoxed by regular ground coffee, my first espresso machine may end up being a disastrous one.

If anyone has any information that will verify or (hopefully) quell my fears it would be greatly appreciated! Particularly so since i created this account minuted before posting this, and its rather unfair for me to be asking something of a community i have given nothing to.

So...Thanks!
Emile

P.S. Now that i slightly understand what a PID is, would i be much better off purchasing one?
