Subject: Auber PID + Steam Control + Pre-Infusion for Silvia - Help me choose...

I'm about to order an Auber PID for my 2009 Silvia V3, and I'm debating which model (Base  -  Base + Steam  -  Base + Steam + Pre-infusion) I'll order.

I'd like to get opinions from people who have used the Auber Steam and Pre-Infusion models.

Thanks.

Pierre

Hi,

I'd already read almost all of it, but there was not much discussion about the pre-infusion feature.

This pre-infusion feature doesn't seem very popular. I'm waiting for opinions, anyone?

Pierre

To be more precise, I'd like to hear of other people's experiences to determine if the Steam and Pre-Infusion options are worth it.

Thanks.

The main thing you NEED(if anything) is brew control.

The pre-infusion isnt "real" PI, and I would probably skip it to save the money.  I remember reading a couple posts over on HB about people not noticing any difference with the PI on/off.

Personally, I would just get the "BASE" and save the extra money for some new coffee to try with you PID'd silvia.

I've finally ordered the Pre-Infusion PID. I'll see for myself, and will report here.

Thanks.
