I'm not Electraman but I did a similar mod. Mine looks just like his, apparently he also purchased a hopper from a Mazzer Super-Jolly (available from EPNW for ~$25 I think). You can tell by the cone shape, the original Mazzer Mini hoppers have more of a funnel shope. But I digress....

Hi All
Been a while since I last posted. Got a notification that someone had posted on this thread today but darned if I can find it.
Firstly, The mod I made means you can get exactly 250G of beans in the hopper. Very useful if you home roast like me.
Here;s how I worked out where to cut.
Place the hopper right way up on a worktop. Put the lid from the grind chamber inside it and level the lid exactly. (Emphasis on exactly!)
Using the inside lip of the lid as a guide draw a line round the perimeter in permanent pen. Mine was wobbily, others have rigged up devices to hold a pen at a set height and then rotate the hopper against it to give the circumference line.
Pray! Then cut!
When I finished the job it was a little rough and the cut line was distinctly wobbily. I got very fine sandpaper put it on a block and sanded over the circumference so that both sides were level and smooth.
The finish is extremely good, not as perfect as it could have been but does the job.
Does anyone know what exactly was used for the hopper in the first picture in this thread? I saw "spice box" but would like to know how to replicate the mod.
