Anyone else see this listing? This is only the second GS-1 I've seen listed in the last 2 years, with this one being in much better condition that the other, which is also in Seattle. Any guess as to what it will bring? I'll give a WAG of $5,500 given the street price of a new GS-3.

I'm really surprised that I'm the only one wondering why a machine like that got relisted on Ebay, especially when the first auction ended with a winning bid at $4051.-

From the Questions in the current auction.
Q: Is this the same espresso machine as the previous auction? Did the buyer back out? A: Yes, the winning bidder ended up buying a Gs2 2 group paddle from us instead of this unit

uhh....maybe someone wants to check out the bidding history of the auction; a zero feedback ebayer (the winning bid) placed 10+ bids to bump up the price......a bit fishy......umm

The "noobie" buyer placed 10 bids indeed, but the winning bid was placed well in front of that (a day or two). To me it looks like someone trying to win and making incremental bids until they met thier own limit ($4k)

Before y'all go crazy, in the feedback there are several other machines that have sold for good prices, especially considering they are offering a warranty. That reduces my suspicion that they are "shill bidding" on their own auction. As JonR10 noted, the behaviour of the 0 beedback person does not seem atypical of someone drawn to the auction from the hype here, HB and other places who is not some "ebay snipe-bid jedi master."
As for having bone this paddle GS-1 and multiple paddle GS-2s for sale, I don't see this as a problem either. Republic Espresso Restoration is an ongoing existing business, with a physical workshop that they publish where you can go to inspect their work and the items they have for sale. They specifically said in both auctions that they have multiple paddle group GS-2s available. If you look on the web, you can also find pictures of their location and workshop with some of they gear they are restoring... Have any of you tried to email them, call them, or contact them in any way to confirm or ameliorate your concerns of shadyness?
