The Espresso machine from the Green Hornet was made by the prop department and didn't actually work at all. We spent a week at the mansion pouring coffee and after much discussion Seth Rogan went with the rosetta. Longshot coffee did all the coffee in the movie, Australian company based in Los Angeles. In the American version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo movie, male protagonist Mikael Blomqvist's editor, Erika, has a Rancilio Silvia at her place. I've enjoyed (tough to say that, given the subject matter) the series, reading the books a couple times each, watching the Swedish versions a couple times each and now the American version, and it always works for me, but seeing that Silvia was like perfect art on an already delicious cappuccino. Icing on a cake didn't seem like the right expression, so I may have coined a new phrase. Let me know if it's been used already...

Just saw French movie "Le Bal" the other day. Not only is this a must see movie if you are a sucker for satire. It has a dark humor out of this world with no dialogue whatosever. Just dancing (!). The movie shows a small dance hall at 7 different periods in time, ranging from 1936 to 1983. All with the same actors playing different parts. Only the bartender is the same (and aging). Well the partender starts off in 1983 with a 3 group Cimbali...
In 1958 the bar gets an Eterna 2 group lever machine, as far as I can tell from the logo. I don't recognise the machine itself, but I think the logo is Eterna or perhaps La Pavoni.
