I'd recommend the CC1 (I needed an espresso machine at work & I just bought one that I'm testing at home right now). I don't feel there is anything else within $300 or more to compete with it *certainly nothing close that incorporates pre-infusion and PID control. You have 2 great grinder purchases within your budget, the Baratza Preciso reviewed here or if you are up to hand grinding you can get the OE Pharos that has a burr set from powered grinders costing 2k and more.
