Compared to something like a Rocket, I wonder how difficult it is to get service/repairs on this in Canada?? That, and also wondering if the price diff from a Rocket isn't that great due to me being in Canada. I emailed first line, and they will ship to Canada if I pay by money wire, but I didn't get the impression that it was free shipping like in the US. Then UPS will charge their brokerage, then 15% import tax, etc. I can get a Rocket for about 1700 shipped within Canada. Hmmm..
Just my opinion but you would be better off with this machine than either of the others.
I can't say that it is true for this machine (but I don't see why not) nearly all machines use fairly standard commercial parts. There are exceptions for sure. like the boiler or touch pads but for things like pumps, OPVs etc they should be off the shelf parts.

would the parts be common tho? I was under the impression since this machine was so small and compact that they used different parts. Someone posted somewhere about a certain part that people had problems with in the past but this was an upgraded version so its an unknown.
So ultimatly im very curious how the parts inside this machine compare to say a rocket, as well as how hard finding said parts will be in the future.
im curious how people feel this will compare to say a BDB. Im guessing this machine will have superior steam power, as well as a better espresso? so overall better in everything? as for the silvano that has a pid correct? people say that is worthless on a heat exchanger, however does that mean the e61 hx is better or worse than a pid system?

I think I am getting this one that is unless another good deal comes out in the next few days.. Hope the wife will be happy... I talked to them today and sounds like a solid machine.

comparing a e 61 to a p I d is apples and oranges. they are 2 completely different ways to achieve the same goal. they are used find 2 totally different kinds of machines, that is why a p I d is worthless on a hx machine.
it is like putting an outboard motor on the family car you can do it but it is of no real value.
Most all parts are pretty much common or can be subed for each other. There may be a few things that are machine specific but that woud be true of any machine. Would the doors of a dodge fit a chevy?
All the working parts of these machines are pretty much the same. I never should have brought it up!
The mater pstats are not junk but they are not bullet proof commercial eirher.
As how does it compair to the bdb? Well both are new to market and most people have not used either one so any guess as how they compare is just that... a guess.
My WILD ASS GUESS BASED ON NO FACTS AT ALL AND ONLY SPECULATION is that this one MAY be better built than the bdb based on MSRP 1600 for this machine vs the 1000 for the bdb. And to that you add in breveles more than spotty record of quality in the USA.
Please people parts are pretty much parts {the ones that do the work anyway) my biggest concern about this machine would not be abour repair or service but rather if I had the money in my budget to move into this class of machine and if the intro price will be around long enough for me to take advantage of it.

Actually, the Cuadra has been around for a few years now. There are YouTube videos of it pulling a shot from 2009.

The MSRP of the BDB is actually $1500 (according to Williams-Sonoma). The case of the BDB is all stainless steel while the Cuadra has plastic sides. So, in at least one aspect, the BDB comes out ahead. Personally, the case isn't a big deal to me though.

Not quite the victory for the BDB in the case metal department - the BDB is a veneer of steel panels on a composite shell - not a steel body in the sense one buying from one of the European manufacturers would come to expect. I consider the shell quality a push between these two machines with neither being anything to get excited about. Bet both can make a decent shot and steam some milk better than what used to be available at this price point.
I chew coffee beans with my teeth while gargling with 195 F water to enjoy coffee. What is this "coffee brewing" device you speak of?
According to 1st Line's Facebook page, the sale is good for current stock, and they received a shipment of 100 machines. Wonder how quickly they sell them?
