How about this set up:

- Giggia Espresso Pure - $160
http://www.wholelattelove.com/Gaggia/espresso_pure.cfm
They also sell a refurbished Gaggia Pure for $179, not sure what's the deal here.

- redesigned Virtuoso - $230

I should like to replace the steam wand on the Espresso with the $14 Saeco Pannarello Wand:

Virtuoso with Preciso burr is not quite as nice as the Preciso, but CoffeeGeek review suggest it can produce good espresso grind.  On a budget, this will have to do.  The Giggia Espresso Pure seems quite cheap at $160.  Is this machine fine?  Can it steam milk (with the Saeco wand) and pull decent shots?  I suppose the build quality would have to be quite trashy at arrive at this price point.  This would come to a total of $400, which exceeds my budget of $300, but below absolute max of $500.

I know it is out of your max budget, but I still love the package deal I got from WLL on my Silvia and Preciso grinder. Lots of accessories to boot.

If you could go to $550, I see WLL has a Gaggia Baby Class and MDF grinder package. The Baby Class gives you a stainless housing, 3 way valve and a classier look.

Plus, you probably could either get them to knock off a few bucks or add some stuff to the purchase for free. Maybe a frothing pitcher, shot glass and nice SS tamper?

Hi Yiplong,

I am new here as well and this community has been nothing short of awesome.

Ah, thanks a lot.  They have the Virtuoso with Preciso grind and the Preciso which got me confused.

Between the Preciso and Rancilio Rocky, which is better?  They seem pretty close in price.

The point here is to ask yourself the level of adjustment you want on your grinder.  I, too, looked at the Rocky as it was visually appealing to me.  But, decided against it as I wanted something that have more grind settings.

However, based on the reviews, I believe both machines are very adequate.
