Hi everyone, i have a saeco magic combi(with built in grinder) and was just seeing some videos on how to turn the pressurized handle to a non, by removing the internal parts. I wanted to know if any of you have tried this and what where the results? Notice a difference? Was the built in grinder good enough to make it fine enough to pull good shots? I also (in worst case senerio) can use my rossi RR45 commercial grinder if the saeco doesn't cut it. oh i forgot to ask. If this mod has worked for you, what grinder setting is yours set at? and is the stock amount of coffee that comes out okay? or did you adjust the screw to have more coffee form into the trap shoot? thanks fabs

CAL yup you where right. I did the mod but came out okay. I had to go really low on the grinder settings (2) and it was a tad fine and was putting a bit of strain on the machine. I put everything back and will still be selling it. fab

I just re read my post and even I don't know what I said, it must have been before breakfast!
I intended to say that removing the guts from a PPF to make it a "standard" PF and basket, will give you better coffee than you can get with the PPF in stock condition. That said, you need a good grinder to get the good results you are looking for and very often, the built in grinder is not able to do the job because it was not designed to work with a unpressurized PF.
If that is what you got the first time, GREAT!
