Subject: Problem of my Gaggia Espresso Pure

I just used this machine for two & half month, there is a serious problem now.
After I make an expresso, I switch off the button on the left and press down the right button for steaming. However, the grouphead is still heating with some noices and there is also water flowing through the portafilter, it looks like the grouphead is overheated and somewhere is leaking. Can anybody tell me how to fix the problem?

Martin, perhaps your group gasket has a tear?
Is this a new machine?

The machine is quite new but I remember there was one day I forgot to switch off the power for almost 8 hours and the front panel became very hot. Would that be the reason why the gasket was overheated and got tear?

I don't think so, and technically, with a full reservoir, you should be able to leave that machine on at least 4 hours?
Does it have an auto refill of the boiler?
If not, you could have some issues.
I think you'll be better served contacting a vendor of your machine...even by email.

Thanks for your answer, actually I am planning to send it to the local service center. BTW, I am in Ecuador.

I think that's a good idea, although you will eventually want to be able to service your own machine. truthfully, rereading the manual, and finding others HERE with the same basic Gaggia will be a great way to learn, and eventually YOU"LL be the one  helping!

Start a thread in "Espresso Machines" , "Seeking Gaggia Pure Owners"...or something like chart.

Off topic, when I played baseball at the University of Miami, Guayaquil was our "sister city."

Another resource to consider:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Gaggia/

There are definitely other Espresso Pure owners there.
