Hi guys,
very new here. We are pondering buying the new Izzo Alex Duetto, were very impressed with the latest Seattle.. review, but need some advice on where to look and buy.
Any recommendations for shops /dealers in the Frankfurt/Main area? Or online? There seem to be some owners of this machine here, even one here.

As I am half a world away I can't offer any positive advice but our UK and EU members (OK I know the UK was/is EU, well the last I knew anything about it, it may well have changed for all I know, sorry for wrong info) who are much closer to you will be in a better position to help you more.
Have you contacted Izzo to find out who the dealers are around you?

thanks for your post. Yes, I contacted Izzo in Italy and hopefully they will be able to understand my rusty italian and this morning even found a representative in Germany - hopefully that address is still active.
We would like to have a look at the machine first and have some input and to make absolutely sure it is the model we want. I understand there might be some differences between the models made for the US (apart from the 110V / 220V and °F / °C thing). Otherwise there is always an online shop that I found.
Some sampleing would be be lovely, too. Or some advice what to look out for - all you IZZO Alex Duetto owners, come forward.

Yes, I have found them as well and have talked to them: unfortunately an online store only, otherwise we would be already sitting in the car and dashing south. Nice holiday on top... But, a good solid plan B.
One shop in Frankfurt seems to carry the single boiler and big proffesional IZZOs, so I think we will at least have a look at the make there. And I will keep my fingers crossed that my husband will not find a more expansive and more expensive model.

please, any machine that might need its own room - it does need to pay rent.
Thanks for the tip, I had asked if they have a shop but spoke only with the Saturday girl. Have a phone appointment for tomorrow.
Were a bit shocked at the espresso machine store where we wanted to have a look at the other Izzo machines - if the workmanship was fine, if they were sturdy or rickety etc. - the shop owner was not a great fan of them anymore, stopped carrying them a (longer) while ago because of problems with the machines in the past: quality decline, price hike, no real work done improving.
Well, that might throw back the ECM into the picture, maybe the new Rocket. Hmh. That is why we want to see it and make our mind up.
We are still on the look-out and might take the trip to the lovely Bodensee.

If it's a dual boiler you're looking for, the new Rocket Espresso R58 might indeed be an alternative. It's brandnew to the market, so there aren't many people with short term experience, let alone long term. But Rocket Espresso has a reputation of building sturdy, soldid, high quality prosumer machines. And the R58 offers quite some interesting and promising features. Those who have tested the machine seem to be pretty amazed at it. I don't think you could do anything wrong there. If you can visit Stoll Espresso in Landau, you might be able to take a look at the R58, too.
Another interesting DB might be the Vibiemme Domobar Super of which there are three models: Junior, PID, and PID Automatic. You and your husband might want to take a look at them as well. Especially the Junior doesn't require much kitchen space.
As far as I know ECM offers only HX machines.

funny, we did exactly that when we bought our Gaggia Gelatiera several years ago. But with a big buck item - I really prefer the support system of a experienced shop. Also a guarentee issue. Just 4 hours drive to Stoll Espresso, or maybe even closer - checking on Friday. That's the plan now. Rancilio - nice, too.
Where abouts are you now? We used to live in CA.

yes, the R58 has become a serious contender, we are looking at that one this week, although another 600 on top, ahem.
All back to dual boiler though and the Izzo is back in the discussion. No ECM. Gosh, why does buying an Espressomachine reminds me so much like buying a car in the States? Some of those dealers certainly like to talk ...
