We are soon maintaining two households, and our newest one will be an apartment with limited counter space. I am looking to buy a machine with a smaller footprint than the GS/3 (16"w 15"h 21" deep) that meets the following criteria: Non-HX machine Non-plumbed PID controlled or adaptable Double boiler *Good steaming performance I have previously had a Silvia that was good, but now that I've been living with the GS/3 for so long, it will be hard to go back. Are there any excellent choices out there in a compact machine? Thanks for your ideas.

You might consider the Breville dual boiler. Its about the same width and height, but only 15"deep.

There isn't much talk of dual boilers that aren't the Breville or the GS/3 around here... At least that I've seen in my short time. Good luck!

there's been a bit of chatter about the Duetto (Izzo Alex Duetto II) as well. dimensions are: 14 1/4"w x 16 1/2"d x 15 3/4"h...so, it's not that much smaller than the GS/3 o/w meets the cirteria It's a semi-auto, so you'd have to get used to stopping the extraction again. I've had mine since mid-December and love it! I upgraded from a Silvia.

1.Rocket R58 is 12.2"W x 17.3"D x 16.1"H 2.Spaziale mini vivaldi S1V2 isn't exactly smaller, only in depth 16.5"W x 16.5"D x 15.5"H
