I drained the boiler empty before putting it away and haven't used it for over a year.  How should I fire her up for the first time after a long time without use?  Thanks!

I can't imagine it being any different than priming it for first use.

I will be a little more careful, mineral in water can dried out and clogged the pump
here is what I will do:

open top panel (4 screws)

remove ONE of the heating element wire (I WILL DO THIS NO MATTER IF YOU WANT TO FOLLOW THE BELOW STEPS OR NOT)

OPEN STEAM valve

if you have compressed air (I mean a real compressor not canned air)

blow some air in the pump  INLET hose (normally is the one with the v cut on it)

air and or water should flow out from the steam wand

the other possibility is the grouphead solenoid valve stock as well , if coffee residues where present when the machine got stored
if so activating the brew button could result in
nothing happening, or coil that energized and pilot cannot open (could blow the GFCI)

or if everything goes well then it will all work like a charm
