Subject: Broken Odea Go machine, repair or replace

Hi,

I own a Saeco Odea Go that I've used for about the last 5 years paid about 600$ for it.  Making at least 3-4 espresso daily.  All of a sudden the machine started to leak while infusing, and the steamer stopped working.

Took the unit to repair; steamer dial and seal need replacement and an electronic board is also broken.  Repair bill 210$

So what should I do now, should I repair it or just buy a new one.  Should I be affraid that some more repair (boiler, grinder, compressor, etc) may be needed soon?

I've seen some new Talea Giro Plus units for about 900$ on kijiji, and I'm tempted to upgrade at the same time

Please give me advice.

Thanks

Most people that frequent here would suggest an upgrade to a different class of machine. You might look at amazon for reviews from the type of people most likely to buy a superauto.

See the following links I googled for you:

"Jura Imressa F8 needs repair after 4 years of use?"
"Re: Best affordable super-automatic"
"Best superautomatic"
"Bought a used & clogged super automatic espresso machine, how do I fix it?"
"Forum consensus on best super-auto?"

Buying advice: GRINDER GRINDER GRINDER. Don't cheap out on the grinder.
