I live outside the US. Where I am there are no decent machines . . Am off to Sardinia for a few weeks and looking to buy a machine. Based on what I have seen here I have a nice choice (maybe the Alex Duetto II???) One good part about this is the possible return of VAT Any thoughts?

Good luck in your quest. Which machines that are available to you is very dependent on what is carried where you are. The internet is great for opening your eyes to what is out there BUT many are not able to buy from internet vendors and are dependent on local stores. You are going to Italy to buy a machine, if you are going there anyway then regardless if you buy a machine or not then the trip is worth it. You might find better deals where you live (you don't say where that is) from a store or a vendor in your country.
Which machines that are available in Italy is really hard to say for someone in the US or Australia to say so again, good luck in your quest!

Thanks!!
Me? living in Russia . . . . prices (and selection) here make it next to impossible to find a decent machine. Even thought of looking at used machines (eg ex-cafe/restaurants) but difficult to nail down. Looked online on italian sites and I guess I will just have to wing it when I get there
