Thanks for the input - really interesting opinions. I think I will keep an eye on the used forums for a good deal - I think I like the idea of a PID enough to hang on for one, or possibly look at something new like the Crossland CC1. Then I will keep my grinder for now and see what luck I have with that before looking to change that.

In regards to the CC1, I have to say that the customer service is top notch, and the PID is very nice. I'm glad I went with a CC1 over a Silvia, because not needing to temperature surf makes for less time spent in the rushed mornings, and as I learned last week, preinfusion was the difference between good and garbage shots, with the beans I was using.
Also, there's very little downtime when needing to steam because of the thermoblock, but that's more of an aside since you are talking about PIDs.

Thanks for the feedback specific to the CC1 - useful to hear, as the one thing I wasn't sure about with that was from a customer service/reliability side. I'm definitely leaning towards that as an upgrade to make.
