OK. Here's the update.
Sent the guy $500. Figured it did work, just dirty. and it came with all of the portafilters, a blind cup, 4 pitchers, little cups, spoons, and all of the top pieces. I think it's a good deal.
I descaled the entire thing. I drained the boiler first, but opening the stopper in the drain cup. That was not a documented fact anywhere. References to it on the forums, but not obvious. The water barely came out, even with a steam tap open, after about 45 minutes empty. Then put the intake into the descaler solution. It took in almost a gallon, but I could never get it to overfill. The water uptake button could be pressed and the motor would run, but I think something prevented it from actually pulling, maybe, maybe not.. I got blue out of there! Then it was clear, not the expected green for a bit. I flushed it very well, and I think it was pretty clean based on that. I did not open the boiler or anything.
I plumbed the water line into my water line (actually the outside spigot hose hookup! I told you this was temporary). The pressure is right up to where it should be!!! We were all right, line + pump = full pressure. Aha! Happy. That was the only hesitation to say it was working. I tried to pull some shots. I had the grind way off, so I ground, then pulled, then ran out of beans. Uggh. I think it's just tweaking from here. Nice!
I also drained again, just to make sure everything was out, and I opened the drain valve. It came POURING out. Ooops, and it was HOT, too much volume for the cup to handle, and I had towels all over the place. It has a nice pinkish hue to the cooper now. :-)
BUT. The Procon is now leaking from adjustment screw and the faceplate. I have heard that these shouldn't be messed with, but that's a lot of disassembly for two o-rings probably and a good clean out. Anyone swap these rings out? I have heard send them in for a rebuild or get a new one, any suggestions if I do have to get a new Procon?

I actually sold my Mazzer for the RR45. I realize its no where near the bulk and build quality, but the stepless often left me irritated and going back and forth looking for the sweet spot. I had fingernail polish dots on the ring as an attempt to mark it. As of yet, the RR45 stepped with the new ring has never left me wanting more as I have been able to hit it every time. As I mentioned, for the money, you cant beat it.

You can get a rebuilt pump on ebay, or you can get a new one for just over 100. Most anyone who sells regularly on there can look up and cross reference the pump needed. I put a rebuilt proton into mine, it died in about a year, and I went to a brand new Fluid O Tech. All is basically the same as long as you match the coupling setup.

Ended up buying a rebuilt procon off of JC Beverage. The drip wasn't bad, but I couldn't stand it, now to get it installed and resist cleaning everything once I loosen the pipes.... Hoping for no scale.... JC had an EBay deal, so I got it for $55 including shipping!

Ugh. Well the part came in good, but I tried to install it and experienced several leaks, I really had to crank on the hardware to get them to seal, the issue was that the bottom elbow was off because I assume that the treads started off in a different place. Bummer. I got good seal when it was 180 degrees off, and impossible to connect the braided hose. Sigh. I ended up stripping the elbow threads trying to get it off / on, and after a misguided trip to Home Depot realized that it is BSP, British thread, not anything you can buy locally. Espresso parts.com has the diagram, but the link looks broken, so maybe a call will fix this Monday. I still don't know what to do about the orientation. Do I leave it looser and put on Teflon tape? Do I crank it until I can't crank no more? ( there is no leverage either). I'm not sure JC knows or redid the threads. Anyone in the same boat?

The world turns on this guy. After I finally got very expensive elbows (first they sent the wrong size), I cranked it in there (and I mean cranked) and even after teflon tape (which I know you're not supposed to have to use), I still get a leak from the 3/8 inch intake fitting. Sigh. I've reached out to JC Beverage to see if they can do the whole assembly, or charge me for getting this thing to stop leaking. GRR. Still no espresso. At least the thing works, I'm just fighting stupid fittings and leaks. I couldn't imagine if the leaks were on any other part.

I got it!!!! After a very torturous install, leak, rip apart, keep torquing, install, leak, swear.... I removed the fitting, cleaned out the brass shavings (yikes) and then wrapped with teflon tape, this time I ensured that I did it with the threads (makes a lot of sense, but not sure if it I did it that way). I reinstalled, and DONE. The thing is rock solid. No wonder people love these things. I made espresso this AM, wonderful!!! Thanks for all hanging in there with me. No to get this thing finally installed in the bakery...
