If the stars align, I'm hoping to get a Silvano with a Preciso in the near future for my home machine. I was wondering how hot the outside of the Silvano gets. Even though I would be keeping it on a high counter, we do have a toddler and burnt fingers are a concern. Thanks much.

The head and the portafiller are the hottest parts. But I doubt they can cause a severe burn since a person will move the hand away immediately. The "burn" will be painful for a small child, but the pain will go away quickly without any treatment necessary. Of course, I'm not a doctor.
