I took this part apart to clean,and forgot how it goes if the red ball goes in the brass part or stays out.i hope somebody will know,Thanks in advance.

Tapered end of the red ball fits in the end of the spring. End of spring without ball sits in the brass part with the ball end sticking up out of brass part.
I chew coffee beans with my teeth while gargling with 195 F water to enjoy coffee. What is this "coffee brewing" device you speak of?
