Clancey- yes you are correct. If you call any of the businesses you mentioned, they will tell you 5800-5900 upfront. Looking at other posts, I have seen the GS/3 go for 5300-5500- you should be able to get a new machine for this price.

I can certainly vouch for Clive Coffee - they're local for me - and their knowledge and capability regarding the GS/3. Not incidentally, their GS/3 service person is a long-time La Marzocco tech I'm very happy I purchased there. And they're really nice people.

I can also vouch for Clive Coffee. I just purchased an Alex Duetto III from them. My last machine was from Chris Coffee who provided me with fabulous customer service. I made the decision to purchase from Clive because they were local for me. The entire experience was very pleasant. Incredibly nice people and incredibly knowledgeable staff. Since I just purchased my machine, I haven't had to deal with them from a warranty perspective. I have no doubt they will provide me with the same great service Chris Coffee did based on reputation and my purchasing experience.
