Subject: Red dot on Silvia's group head?

I have noticed while looking for a new machine I would say over 75% of the photos on Silvia V2's or V1's have this red dot on the group head.  It seems to be just right of center.  When I saw the first one I had thought maybe someone had to mark a stop point for the PF?  Now i am noticing it on a lot more Silvia's that I am looking at.  Can someone clue me in on why this is there or am I seeing stuff? Attached is only one of the dots I am talking about.

Here is another example.  See it's not me these are 2 different units owned by 2 different people.

It's a conspiracy!!! I'll stop with this 3rd photo.  I am totally baffled on what this is for.

The red dot indicates the approximate location of the portafilter handle when it's locked in for brewing.

Thank you.  That makes so much sense it explains why I didn't think of it :)
