I picked up one of these used, but when I turn it on it won't take in water. makes a loud kind of grinding noise. Is it worth taking the time to repair? I am mechanically minded, but if it will take multiple days/weeks of tinkering I might not be up for it.
Could be the pump is shot. Used commercial gear usually takes some time to rebuild, especially if it wasn't well maintained while in use.
Bear in mind, also, that Brasilia went bankrupt and there is a paucity of proprietary parts, so anything that's not a generic part will be hard to come by, potentially.
