Someone sold this "expresso" machine to me locally for $225. It's in decent shape, but I'll never be able to test it because I don't have the right circuit or plumbing for it (it's also missing its pump, in addition to its PFs and hot water spout tip). I'm bartering it to the local commercial tech I know, but man would it be nice to plug this baby in and pull a few shots on it. Oh well, at least I can say I technically owned it for a day, even though it's still in the back of my car.

I know how you feel. I picked up a pretty much brand new Rancillio class 8 machine for a steal of a price but was never able to test or use it because it was way too big and I didn't have the proper power. I did end up trading it in to a commercial retailer though and got to see it powered up and running. It would have been amazing to keep it at home but was massive overkill. It also sat in the back of my SUV for 2 weeks because it was too heavy for me to move and my wife wanted nothing to do with it.

There was a two-group Cimbali in CL here for $250. Hung around for a couple of weeks. Tempting as it was, it would have been totally unrealistic. Not to mention that my wife would have killed me.
Addendum: As a matter of fact, there's a 3-group Expobar on L.A. CL right now for $300. Must... restrain... self...

I afraid the hypnosis won't work, Wayne. Unless, of course, it's a commercial lever machine, in which case I'd buy it against future need (Lessee here, a Flo-jet system and a 220 generator would add how much to the cost? Just how comfortable is my couch, anyway? )
Seriously, though, until we've relocated to someplace where I have some shop space and the ability to plumb and add a 220 circuit, any adventures with commercial machines are unlikely.
