Wow. If a local vendor here offered a free upgrade to the Lux version, it would be a no brainer for me. Not to mention the extended warranty.

If the Musica could switch between tank and plumbed in operation and had a rotary pump, I'd buy one in a second.

Congratulations on your purchase!

It will be nice not to be the only Musica owner out there.

The Musica is on my short list.

I'd get the direct plumb version, which would annoy me to no end at the $700 premium for the removal of the reservoir and adding a braided hose hanging out the back, but whatever...

any Musica out there actually plumb the drainage tray? I hear there is a punch-out disk or plug in the tray. Is there any included hose or elbow for that?

thanks.

Hi as a tank unit I like it. The hot water sucks air sometimes and I need a five gallon jug of water but my tap water is way too hard so bottle is a good choice for me.
If you get a good price it gets close to $2000 I found a demo for less. To pay $3000 for a machine and pipe it in I would move up a model to a true commercial machine like the Mac or other. You may find more deals on a used commercial machine in that $3000 price range.
Or you can look at some of the other machines in the Musica class or price range that switch easier to direct.
I just picked up a used Nuova Simonelli MDX grinder and put new burrs on it. There are lots of these commercial grinders out there cheep too.
Just consider how much you are spending and if you are  getting what you want.
I just got the grinder dialed in and the Nuova Simonelli pair is nice. Incredible may be a better word. The Musica stretches milk better than I ever could. It is a beautiful machine and works well but if I was spending twice as much I would be thinking bigger.

Helloz All,

After a couple of weeks of owning the NS Musica, this machine keeps impressing me with each and every cup. The quality of espresso this this machine delivers is very close to the full fledged commercial machines (well, the UNIC & Le Cimbali i had the chance to try). The milk steaming is quite alright and is just fine for my home use. My Musica is paired with Eureka Mignoon Instantino grinder, which i also love and appreciate the small form factor of (and its price compared to the Mazzer Mini).

I was worried form the fact that i need to cool flush the machine before pulling a shot. This turned out to be non-issue and the amount of wasted wanted is quite minimal.

All is all, i'm very happy with my decision to go with this machine, definitely with your great help and guidance. My espresso consumption doubled after getting the Musica and successfully calibrating the grinder. I guess this is a good indication.

My Musica did not come with any such draining solution for the drip tray. But to me, it is not a worry, given the huge size of the drip try and how easy it is to eject, empty and insert it back.

If you have any specific questions on the Muscia that will help you better make an informed decision, please post and i'll try to help based on my 3-weeks hands-on experience.

Thank you,

Ammar

Thanks for that update. It is really good if people can finish the story in a thread.  And it helps others in the same boat.
