The Breville dual boiler machine is now $990 at Amazon. This is the lowest price the machine has sold for thus far, except for a brief flirt with $960 a couple weeks ago, and a great deal. Free super saver shipping.
Click here to go to the Amazon page. The usual caveats about Amazon's frequent price changes apply -- if you want it at this price, jump on it.

I am new so forgive my naivety but is this a good deal? I was under the impression that Breville was not a good brand, am I wrong? Do they make good espresso makers?

It was true that the low-end Brevilles are awful for espresso. The dual boiler machine is another animal entirely. See Mark Prince's review here. That was a pre-production model, but the reports form actual users are very positive.

Thanks! This looks like an awesome machine. I love that you can steam and brew at the same time and I know this is a feature my ADHD husband would love also. Now I am thinking I should have waited and saved up a little while longer and invested in this beauty.

Try ABT (abt.com) I just got one there last Thursday day at just under $1000.00 (you have to go to check out to get discounted price BEFORE you pay). I had to pay sales tax as I live in state. It was still the best price I could find with FREE shipping (delivered about $1040.00 out of state under 1000.00). I have dealt with them for over 30 years and they will make sure you, the customer, are happy! They are huge but family owned/run.
I was looking to replace my old antique Avanti "one lunger" and I tried them (ABT). So, far, I am ECSTATIC!! The machine makes me look like a TALENTED BARISTA (which I am not)! (excuse all the shouting as I am sooooooo pumped! Also, overcaffinated lmao).
I got some fresh Red Line Express from Metropolis Coffee and I had my new Baratza Vario dialed in in about 6 pulls.
The Vario was from Whole Latte Love and I am also very happy with that purchase (see their videos).
The new Grinder and the BDB have been great. I will post sometime in future after I get more time on both. The BDB longevity is the only "bothersome" issue, but the postings on the Aussie Forums pushed me over the edge to purchase.
In closing, I don't know if ABT still has the deal, but it's worth a look. I recommend the grinder whole-heartedly and I love the BDB with the reservation "that only time will tell".
OBTW I get no commercial benefit from either "ABT" or "Whole Latte Love" They are just good to deal with!
If you have any questions on the BDB just PM me as I don't want to HiJack this post.
Good luck!
Cheers,
Dave
Don't forget to stop and smell the coffee...... er flowers!

If you have Discover, you have 5% .com online order saving until end of December and save 5% more at ABT through shop Discover. I bought it about a week ago with the final cost being just under $900 with all the discounts.
