Hi everyone,
I recently bought a BES900XL knowing that the machine cannot be de-scaled at home; nevertheless, I did not think about what difficulties (if any) there would be if I wanted to store the machine for a few months after having used it. It seems to me that, since the boilers can not be flushed at home, the stagnant water in the boilers are an issue. Am I right about this?

if you are going to store the machine where there is any possibility of it freezing you need to put antifreeze in the boilers. this can be simple as putting vodka in the boiler. simply put the vodka in the water reservoir and run the system until you get the alcohol out.
you should then be fine for long term storage
when you bring the machine out of storage you need to remember to flush the system well. I forgot to do this with an Oscar that was shipped from the east coast to California in the winter and I can tell you that the first shot that I had was horrible. it was spit out the instant it went into my mouth but the burning lingered for hours. I do not advise taking that route to an alcoholic drink!

Could immersion in alcohol/water mixture affect any gaskets/seals/o-rings in the machine (or plastic components)?
I know this is an issue with classic car fuel pumps and hoses and the like because of the ethanol in fuel nowadays, but those are gaskets designed for use in a fuel system.
