I recently had a self inflicted issue with my Livia 90 Semi Automatic. It turned out not to be a machine issue.....
Near the end of my rope, I sent an email to Pasquini in LA for advice. Even though it was slam in the middle of the holidays, Michael responded promptly with kind comments and included a PDF blow up of Livia 90 parts and assembly, along with an offer to have me send the group and portafilter assemblies to him for evaluation. This is a warm and fuzzy response for someone in the middle of nowhere!
It also occurred to me that 2013 is my 7th year on this machine with near daily use. Not only does it perform like the day it was new, with a spit polish, it looks like the day it was new as well. This is no small feat here in the land of corrosion and corruption. I provide filtered cistern water to the tank but have a small net that I use to fish drowned ants out of the tank, every few days, if you get the picture. I live in the equivalent of a tree house with power that Tesla could never have imagined. 60 cycles, well 40 to 70 anyway, at least when it is available and I'm not on generator power (which is probably the cleaner of the two).
Conclusion: Sure, I'd rather have a Slayer but believe me, you won't go wrong with a Pasquini.
