For those of you with experiencde with this basket can you give me some advise on which basket would be a better choice? It's between the 18 or 20g basket.
I am also wondering what works better with a conical grinder the redged or redgeless version?

Biggest difference I can see is if you like to pop out the basket every so often. The ridged fits in very snug. The size just depends on how you like to pull. All preference

If you don't have a loose spring, there's no reason to not get the ridgeless. The ridged is just a pain to get out. I have a few different sizes and the 18 is the one I use the most. You can fit way more than 18g in there, but it's a very specifically made basket. You can cram in 22g, but the extractions gets kind of funky. The same goes for underdosing. 17g-19g is great and consistent.

I do my dose/distribution/tamp with the basket removed and then slip the basket into the PF just before pulling the shot. Ridgeless works best for this.
The only purpose of the ridge is to lock the basket into the portafilter and make it more difficult to remove. I never use ridged baskets, but some folks may prefer them.
