That can't be good, can it? Everything is working fine I just found that burned spot while messing around with my brew pressure today.

You know those people that want to tell you how to raise your kids but have none of their own? That is how i feel when someone with a kitchen appliance tells me how the merits or dis-merits of my machine or how to use it.

If you're talking about the brown spot on top of the powerboard, I have seen many work fine for years with that discoloring. I think the silvery-white Gicar sticker isn't very heat resistant and discolors with exposure to heats that aren't damaging the powerboard. So long as it still feels smooth and flat, I expect it is okay. If the plastic has heated to the point where it is bubbled and rough, then something in there has gotten fatally hot.
