too bad i had to go into work after only getting to set it up and pulling a couple shots. I have a couple questions, maybe someone else on here might know. one is, I dont have a PID, how long does it take alexia to cycle though, I dont see the light coming on to re-heat for several minutes, even after flushing ounces of water. two priming the machine, do I need to turn on the pump to prime the machine? it seems to be working fine, i'll just need to make some fine adjustments, already the clarity on the shots ive made is much better than the classic I was working on.
also, as i'm twisting the portafilter in, it activated the pump switch if I push too hard, am i just manhandling the machine and this is normal, or do I need to adjust something?

Congrats on the new machine! I got myAalexia a few weeks ago and I love it! I have a PID so I can't help with the cycle time. I'm not sure I understand what you mean when you say the pump comes on when you put in the portafilter. It actually starts brewing? Or does it sound like it is just refilling the boiler? Or something else...
as for the brew switch being tapped when I put in the portafilter, it seems like it was a problem with the lever arm being installed just a hair off axis. I pulled it off and put it on centered and it seems to be better now.
