Does anyone have any experience with VFA Expres commercial espresso machines. I am looking at purchasing one but am concerned as to availability of any "proprietary" parts for future repairs. Any comment on this company's equipment would be appreciated. BTW I am looking at the Gold Dome 1930 model... LOTS of "Bling" for my bar ... know of any others that are flashy AND under $10k??
Blake, welcome to CG. Are you really spending $10K on an espresso machine for your home bar, or is this for your restaurant? If it's for your home, I have a La Valentina, made by VFA, but the vendor has stopped carrying it. Parts may indeed be a concern.
If it's for your restaurant, first and foremost, you need to find out WHO, WHAT and WHERE . . . who services espresso machines in whatever part of North Carolina you are in; what types of machine(s) they service; and where you have to take the machine (or if they will come to you, and provide a "loaner" machine while yours is in the shop).
Again, if it's for your restaurant, I would respectfully suggest that you figure out how many drinks per day you'll be making, and select a machine based upon your needs, rather than upon the "bling." OTOH, if it's for your home (and thus the workload is considerably lighter), why not take a look at the following machines*
I have some experience with VFA machines. I know of 2 VFA machines for sale in Toronto in good order both going for $500. I also was able to track down dealers for parts if you ever need them based in the U.S. They have 6L boilers. I know of pro part dealers as well. PM me if you like.
