Ok. The machine sat for months not being used.  Took the majority of copper pipes off to clean; boiler too.  Put back together and no water through the head; water and steam wand work fine.

Friend checks the head for plugging; seems clear.
Friend says the solenoid might be bad; put new solenoid (housing only;old plunger) in.
Instead of the usual "click and nothing happens," we hear "click, click," but a little more pronounced.
Also the red light for low water came on and the green power light started blinking; the unit wont accept              new water; it acts like its shutting down.
Pushing the button for espresso also seems dead; like its not on.

If anyone can help me with this or point me to a tech near chattanooga, id be very appreciative.

John

I had two similar problems with my NS.

1st- boiler fill solenoid could be "sticking"

2nd- Solenoid over group head could be "sticking"

I found with both of these i wasn't getting good contact, took parts off cleaned them, put back on tight and magic.

I also found on my machine there is an auto shut off that stops the machine from overfilling the boiler. makes all the lights flash all crazy and shuts the machine down.

Not sure if this will help you or not :/

is your pump spinning?

Ah.  The pump is not working it appears.

Upon turning on the machine the red "water level/fill" light comes on as does the green "power on" light.  Hoever this light is flashing.  After several inutes, the power light goes off and the red light flashes.

Not mentioned in earlier post is that i removed the electrical cover just to look for something to indicate a problem.  Its as if the control panels lost all power afterwards.

I hope someone can help me with this; maybe suggest a tech in se Tenn?

Thanks,
John

Did check the group head solenoid- it appears free.
Need to look into the other solenoid.  However theres something else going.

Maybe the pump was the issue initially since the boiler filled and heated; water came through both wands.  Opening the electrical box did something i suppose.
