Very good to hear, and I hope everything is now completely resolved so you can go back to making great espresso.... Because that is what it's all about for us. It's the passion for the bean. ;-)
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I did my first HotTop roast today with a new organic Peruvian from SM. I really like the process, and this looks like a bean New Brevilley will love.

I love my HotTop, careful, it leads to harder stuff like a Diedrich IR-1, lol. Enjoy the journey with HotTop and btw the customer service is top notch, Michael has taken care of any issue that came up with a reconditioned machine I got from him and we never discussed things such as warranty or time of purchase even years later.
I am glad Breville is taking care of your situation, I hope that this is an eye opener for how they deal with their efforts to the average Joe, business like that goes a long way. I for one can understand the frustration of dealing with customer service saying tough titty, enough to make someone go postal.

Behmor's CS has always been pretty wonderful as well. I had a circuit board fry and a motor give out, both outside of warranty, and they took care of both problems for no charge. If you could manually control the heater and fan on that puppy I never would have moved up.
Now that it's a spare, I think I'll play with the temperature controller that some folks retrofit on it.
Per topic, I'm sure the R58 and QM7 are perfectly fine machines too.

<chuckle>......you have done what I could never have been arsed to do. It truly never ceases to amaze me though how new owners view their machines no matter what....in this case perhaps as in the attached file. Although it's fair to say, just one problem in that rocky road and the wheel fell off the love trolly. (this cost me a whole digestive biscuit)
Don't let it bother you BD, I'm sure anyone with the BDB on thier short list of perspective machines followed your saga with great interest. I'm really glad things worked out for you and I would like to believe the attention you got from one of Brevilles higher ups goes beyond just you and brought some attention to thier customer support practices in general, to make sure the "average Joe" gets the same attention. Anyone who would take the time to clip all your posts from the past week or so for the purpose of criticizing you has way to much time on thier hands, and is not making any valuable contribution to this forum, just wasting space.
