So currently I'm using an old ECM Giotto Classic for my day to day use - its a great machine and I love using it what I've learned from it and fully intend to keep it. However, I do gatherings at my house where I can be making a dozen drinks back to back, and I'd like to have another beast for those occasions. I started browsing craigslist and came across a used Cimbali M29. The seller is asking $750, but the catch is that it can't be tested before hand. Comes with 2 portafilters. The seller bought it at a mini storage auction. From what I've read these things are solid, the only thing don't like is that I won't be able to use my new bottomless or VST baskets (and of course that I cannot test before buying, can't even hook up to power...)

Probably had hard use...expect to replace the rotary pump, and leaks from some fittings (heating element, pipes from steam boiler etc..), vacuum breaker will probably beleaking and it will be filthy, requiring a good backflush and possibly some attention to the group solenoid valve.
The above is probably the best you can hope for, it could of course be much worse.
