I'm thinking of ordering one of the tampers from Hai Pham soon. Also, what's with the ripple bottom? Does that do anything special?

Something like that would cure me of my polishing step, lol. I have tried to stop the polish the last two years since it is an unneeded step that can cause more harm and no has no purpose but I can't stop it, it is a bad habit at this point. Sounds like this tamper would help me stop since any twist would tear up the top surface.

haha i didnt realize i also have a hai pham tamper.

i purchased the 58.35 base with the red aluminum handle.  the thing is HEAVY!  i ended up swapping the handle with a nice lightweight one from a Clive tamper and it's now my go-to tamper at work.
