Something like that would cure me of my polishing step, lol. I have tried to stop the polish the last two years since it is an unneeded step that can cause more harm and no has no purpose but I can't stop it, it is a bad habit at this point. Sounds like this tamper would help me stop since any twist would tear up the top surface.

haha i didnt realize i also have a hai pham tamper.
i purchased the 58.35 base with the red aluminum handle. the thing is HEAVY! i ended up swapping the handle with a nice lightweight one from a Clive tamper and it's now my go-to tamper at work.
