First off thanks to the many people who six years ago got me pointed away from the Breville 800ESXL towards a real espresso machine. Plus answered all my questions as a newb. The Gaggia Classic and MDF grinder have been relentless performers. I have fallen in love with espresso and I always felt when the machine could increase my journey into the bean I would do it. I will find a good home for both. I have never stopped reading about machines and I wanted and Italian made E-61 lever machine. I bought a La Nuova Era Cuadra because the value at this price is to great to pass up. I know many people have wondered if and when I would do it,so its official.

Thank You ...it was too good of a deal to pass up. Your opinion is one of those I value here.I read your comments on this machine in the owners thread and it was a factor in my decision. Everything I have read over the years has persuaded me to highly value an E-61, plus you, JonR and DaveUK among many others here also think highly of them.

Glad you found a machine you could get on board with. I think you will be very much in love with it, in no time at all. Nice choice.

Well I found a good home for my Gaggia Classic and MDF Doser grinder ( With a broken spring which i will leave because people say its better that way) . My daughter just got married to a great guy from Kentucky so she wants it and will get it. I know this sounds weird but I have grown attached to that machine. Its never sputtered. Its been a faithful tool to take me this far into the bean. With the next one I will go further on because really its a journey into the bean now isn't it. Im looking so forward to this HX machine with E-61. I guess you can tell Im an E-61 fan. I will have it a long time Im sure. After all the Gaggia I used for five years and what a pounding it took. One steam valve and one new group gasket. If I would have used the descaler on the steam wand ,instead of waiting a few years it probably would have lasted longer. So off it will go fitted with a Silvia steam wand. Its like saying goodbye to an old friend.

My apologies I was referring to way back when I wanted to get into espresso and bought an 800 EXSL Breville and it wouldnt make espresso. All I had was their PPF and it was a joke. I came here and found many were having problems. The people here back at that time steered me in the right direction. That was the context for that remark. Now I am not a fan of them to this day but I try to stay away from arguing over someones else's stuff. Live and let live is my motto. So with that in mind I wanted to explain that the Gaggia meant a lot to me because honestly I was getting ready to just quit at that point.
See my review five years ago PLUS I UPDATED THE COMMENT TO INCLUDE THE SPECIFIC BREVILLE
