I've been using my Pasquini Livietta for about 6 months now, and I back flush about once a week. I follow the procedures (rubber insert, cafiza, etc), but one thing that seems weird is that the water spills out of the top of the porta filter (where it attaches to the machine) while back flushing. Every video I see, it seems that it shouldn't be happening, and it should exit the little drain at the bottom. Some water does come from that area, but not much. Is this normal?
Edit: I posted a video, easier than trying to explain

I don't know how the little Pasquinis work, but for my Simonelli six months is when a gasket has about had it. I was having the same issues and didn't realize my gasket had turned rock hard and had cracks in it. You might want to check your group gasket and see if it needs replacing.

If you push on the gasket with a small screwdriver, it should feel a little spongy (being hard rubber). It not it's dried out and needs replacing. Shouldn't happen in a new machine, but who knows how long it's been sitting around before you got it. If the gasket is ok, then you really should consider other things. Maybe your rubber insert isn't the right size?
