Dave,
If The test I fif before are correct then I should start at 206f ( should be no flash) then wait 5 min and increase to 207, if correct I should see a flash correct?
If I recall when I did the test I started at 208 and did not see a flash till 212 or so.what could the issue be? why did the water keep flashing when I went down in temp and stop at 206? When on the way up it started to flash at212? I did make sure that I waited 10 min between changes.
As I said I will video it an post it.

If the room is warm, then it's possible the group had not lost enough heat, it takes a long time for the E61/system to cool down that much.

Hi Dave, Thanks again for taking your time to respond.
So here is my link to the Video. let me know what you think.
http://youtu.be/qy7oRs5VRZE

Having doe the test again I saw some weird stuff happen.
1) when I run  20 amp mode should the lights be on at the smae time or should they fuctuate between them
2) I noticed the water puring in a single stream at higher temp vs a showering type stream at lover temps. Why?

The UK lights still pulse in full power mode.

It's difficult to tell when it's flashing off to steam, because I can't see the shower screen. However if you thin it is, then adjust the offset so that 206 (or whatever your flash point is becomes 211F, then work from there with your coffee and see if it tastes OK when extracted at 199f or whether it tastes sour. See then how your coffees extract in the new adjusted 199 - 206 range.

I am surprised that your machine would have potentially a much smaller offset than others, but it's conceivable that something is different.

Dave

P.S. The water pulls together as some weird fluid physics. When it gets hotter surface tension and charge are both reduced....perhaps that has an effect, your right though, there is definitely a less discrete shower as it gets hotter?

Would you suggest I bring it to a Tech to look at the machine and have it checked out?

I jus  thought of something and I might be way off here.
does it matter that My appartment is 14 floors up? Does it effect anything? Also would you suggest in trying your PID settings that you seggested to others?

OP, you seem to have issues with these machine or some horrible luck. I just noticed you were the OP of the R58 thread I posted on (the other machine I am considering)  haha. Best of luck.

Yeah I think a bit of both. With the rocket it was really bad luck, with the duetto I think it is just getting use to the machine and setting the temps ok. As I mentioned in my post the R58 was easier to pull shots from as  I found the temp to be more stable. The iszzo I have lots test to do before I can get a good shot. But its getting better now. I still think that my grinder could not be grinding consistently,
Al in all if the r58 never made the noise I would have kept it.
