+1 on the steam wand upgrade.  I'd put that at the top of my list, given the cost and improvement - unless you don't care about microfoam.

Cool on the Stumptown.  I've got a bag of Holler Mtn in my main hopper right now.  Good stuff!

our bad...sorry.  You want the Silvia v3 wand/valve assembly.  Available from one or more of the following locations like espressoparts.com, chriscoffee.com, seattlecoffeegear.com )and likely a couple of others) iirc, it's about $70 - though it was about 2 years ago when I did it.  It takes about 10 minutes to swap out for the old wand and there's a how to video on SCG (seattle coffee gear), which illustrates one very important detail, regarding a washer, to get the new assembly to fit just right.  The v3 wand is an articulating type, rather than a simple left/right swivel.  The microfoam abilities of the Silvia are greatly improved through this upgrade/mod.

I found stumptown less forgiving to learn on.  Even with shipping Redbird is cheaper.  However, it is nice that you can compare what you get at home to what you get there.

First shots took 50 seconds for 2 oz  adjusted grinder will test layer ordered a new tamper the stock one sucks

just ordered 2lbs of redbird since it was suggested, did a shot pull in 23 seconds, tasted good first steam attempt when horrible i just cracked the valve instead of opening it, but i have today off so i get to play with it

Red bird arrived got it repackage can't wait to get threw the last little bit of stumptown, so I cam try it.. Also ordered a bottomless portafilter and some other stuff
