Sometimes when I'm steaming milk, I hear a metallic "thunk" sound, kind of like if you whack the bottom of a coffee can. When this happens, the steam instantly starts coming out much stronger. It doesn't do it all the time, probably a couple of times a week. What could this be?
Overall, I'm pretty happy with the machine, but I have the same issue as you did--when I turn the steam on, I hear the "thunk" from time to time while the temp is increasing as well as during steaming.
Wondering if you ever found out what this might be. Please let me know if you did.
So that's what the 1st Line tech guy said...that it might be metal expansion from heat. The question then is, does this pose any problems in terms of durability of the machine or how well the machine works? Should I be concerned or try to do something about this?
