I noticed that the pressure gauge on my Elektra Micro Casa a Leva is not going down to zero when cold.  Does anyone know how to re-zero it?

Hi Slee10

I don't know haw to fix it but you might go back to Mark Prince's review where he mentioned the same problem. It's not a big worry as it's only a guide and doesn't affect the pressurestat. Hope someone figures this one out because I fear I'll have the same problem one day.

good luck

Jeff

I have the same thing happening with mine, I'm not sure its a major problem, just aesthetically irritating.

Replacement has been/is  the only fix.  Anyone know of a vendor who stocks Elektra MicroCasa a Leva parts?

The was a thread on this back in June; see Mark's help:

Topic: Elektra Semi Automatica questions Forum: Espresso Discussions: Machines and Grinders   Subject: Re: Elektra Semi Automatica questions   Posted: Mon Jun 14, 2004, 7:22pm:  Preview: Checked again with Federico on this - he said it is not user-fixable, but is user-replacable.  In fact, he made an extremely generious offer regarding   a) drip tray cover b) gauge.  He said that if your...

I've since written to Fregnan Federico, as Mark suggested, received a prompt email reply, and now weeks later, have the gage itself by regular mail (from, translating his handwriting: Dr. Fregnan Federico, Via A. Volta, 18, 31030 Disson di Casier (TV)).  I have the Semi Automatica, but believe it uses the same gage.

No replacement instructions accompanied the new part, so I'd be interested in hearing if anyone has gotten them.  While it doesn't look like a difficult replacement, the gage on teh Semi Automatica is fitted pretty tightly against the water tank, and it would be good to know the recommended replacement sequence.

Hope this helps!

Bob
