It's very possibly done, then, and ready to be replaced, but if you want to you could try to determine why it isn't producing voluminous steam.

If you turn the pump on for three beats after the flow has gone arid, does it quickly become steamy again?
If so, then you know your heater is hot enough but you haven't enough water. Descale it for the sake of the pump.


If you turn the pump on for three beats after the flow had gone arid, does it show as a spray of hot liquid water spitting out of the steamer? Then your problem is that the heater isn't hot enough, OR not heating the water efficiently, like it's calcified...  Descale it for the sake of the thermoblock... Right?

A "Few months old machine" bought legally might still be under warranty...  But then your option would be even more obvious than descaling it.
