Wow, that sucks.  I got one of the first ones from the new shipment for $1,999. I was primed to get this one and had to wait for 2 months for it to arrive.

It was just $1999 early this week...I was gonna buy this end of the week!!!

The was no stock before Christmas...after Christmas there were like 11...then 8 few days back...

Should have known better...must be related to H-B running a review of it...increase the price just before the buzz...

It's even more than the popular double-boilers!!!

Ouch that's a price jump, but man that is one nice and clean looking machine. May have to keep that one in mind for down the road lol.

Just email them, they might give you the intro price since it just ended.

This isn't uncommon.  Anytime a machine gets reviewed on HB you tend to see the price increase due to buyer interest and supply of the machines.  That ECM is now also carried by Whole Latte Love.  Sign up for their newsletter and you get an instant coupon.

As has already been mentioned, contact them (1st Line and WLL), preferably by phone as it comes across as being more of a serious buyer.  You just might get that original price.  The US/Euro exchange rate hasn't changed enough to see a price increase anywhere close to $400, so IMO the price increase is just fluff.

If you don't like that price, there are many other great HX machines for much less.

Like this one for $1698.  Only you can decide if the ECM is worth $700 MORE.
