Posted Wed Jan 22, 2014, 2:15pm Subject: Astra Mega 1 water temperature problems
I have a PID on the boiler and a thermocouple on the grouphead. The PID is set to 220 Fahrenheit and normally that generates a temperature at the grouphead of 193. I turn the espresso machine on at least an hour before I use it. This morning when I looked at the thermocouple temperature it was 135. I ran the water for about a minute and the grouphead temperature got up to around 180. For the last month or so I've had this problem intermittently. Any idea what's going on and how I can correct it? The machine is about 13 years old; I've had it for about 8 years and it's worked well. Thank you.
