Subject: EXPOBAR: let H2o run out..now pump won't start in AM when I turn mach on

Hoping for some help - I have an Expobar Office Control. I got it used off Ebay a year ago or so. It has run flawlessly and I have been good about descaling it, etc. It's about 6 years old or so. For the first time since I've owned it I stupidly neglected to refill the water reservoir - the water ran out in the course of pulling a shot. As I say, I was in the process of pulling a shot when the machine abruptly stopped as the reservoir ran dry (i'm assuming because of some automatic shut off switch or something). I immediately realized what I had done and I shut the machine off and refilled the reservoir, but nothing happens when I turn it on. Now when I turn the machine on I do not get the usual pump sound that comes on after you turn the machine on as the pump sends water to the boiler - I get lights on the on/off switch and the heating element light, but no pump sound (usually the pump comes on very shortly after you first switch the machine on in the morning). Also, just to see if the pump works I very briefly pressed the manual shot button on the control panel and the pump ran - so I do not believe it is an issue with the pump being burned out or something.

If anyone can help with a diagnosis on this and what steps to take, I would GREATLY appreciate it. I'm really missing my espresso in the AM.. THANKS!!

Try opening the steam wand. Then turn the pump on.
