Subject: Saeco Gran Crema Portafilter

I seem to have an older version Saeco Magic Espresso machine. All of the manuals I find online discussing the Gran Crema Portafilter directs one to lock the portafilter into the group head by turning to the right and then allowing it to move back towards the left from its internal spring. Then when the unit is up to temperature, pressing the coffee button will start the espresso dispensing process.

Well, with my Saeco Magic Espresso, the portafilter does not spring back to center/left and the manual that came with my machine directs the following;

- Insert the filter holder into coupling until it it's blocked.
- Press the coffee button. The corresponding LED turns on.
- When the machine noise fades, turn the handle of the filter holder left to open the nozzles for coffee dispensing.

I cannot tell there is a difference in my Gran Crema Portafilter from the videos I see online, but obviously there has to be a difference as the workflow is definitely different.
