The story:

My Oscar was not getting hot enough, I was no longer getting that super hot steam that I had to use the cooling flush on. I read up at http://www.elektros.it/en/tips-and-tricks.html. An amazing amount of information. So I was trying the fix for 'the coffee is not hot enough'. I reseated my water level probe and went to empty the boiler. I thought it would be much easier to empty it out of the steam outlet than the steam arm. And then I used one wrench instead of two and was not paying attention. Bam! I wrapped the tube around a couple times. There is a nice big crack in the middle of it.

Where can I get this part? Everywhere online is like $20 and no date to ship (all look pretty sketchy to). I am guessing the shipping will be an arm and a leg. I talked to the guy at home depot and he said try a plumbing specialty store because it looked like a restaurant ice maker or maybe gas fitting might work.

Is the best place NS directly? How long will that take?

The part number is 73003022

My next stop for my machine not getting hot enough was here. :)

Thanks
Dan

That part is listed at $18.30 in Simonelli USA's part list. I've ordered parts from there before and I don't remember shipping being anything outrageous. But it is a better deal if you order more parts. So break a few more things before you place the order :)

Thanks for the response. That begs the question you think the reseating and emptying of my boiler will fix my low heat problem? If not what will fix it. I have a crappy ohm meter. I tested the pstat and the thermofusable was .001 which I think is zero. Finally the ohm reading on the heating element was 9.7. I read the first two should be 0 and the element should be 40 but the scale on my crappy meter is whacked. Anything it might be that I should order the part because I am putting the order in?

Thanks!

The first place I would have looked at is the Pstat, which one do you have the Mater or the Sarai? Maters tend to go out more often than the later which is a commercial unit and is common on the later production machines.

The Pstat is the device that controls the temp of the machine.

I have a mater pstat. I feel like sometimes it was cool and and sometimes functionally hot. It no longer got properly hot. The only thing I have to go off of is amount of time the super hot steam came out. It used to be very consistent, now sometimes it has a few seconds of super hot steam and sometimes it has none. Does that sound like a pstat?
